Fun alphabet matching game ideas to teach uppercase and lowercase vowels to preschool level kids that speak either English, Spanish, French or Italian.

01. Print a copy of printable A.

02. Cut the cards out of the page and then cut each in half.

03. Play matching those pics, which can be done in different ways depending on each child’s likes and skills, you can either:

  • Hide all the pieces around the room to make it a scavenger hunt / puzzle game.
  • Scramble all the pictures on the floor/table and let the kid find their own way to match them.
  • Put either the uppercase or lowercase parts in the right order (a-e-i-o-u) and let the kid find their match.

Game twists

  • Glue a magnet in the back of their designs so they can play on a metallic surface like the fridge.
  • Mount the pictures on cardboard (or print on thicker paper) and use them to play an alternative version of the classic memory game, where instead of looking to match two pictures of the same kind, they have to find the letter’s uppercase/lowercase match.
